Trauma:
You might just feel like a broken record, it might even feel like the most troubling aspects of your life are on repeat. It could be that you live with a sense of being a failure, impending doom, or that you’ll never be good enough. Maybe you’ve been betrayed, abandoned, or hurt. Trauma presents in a variety of ways and impacts each of us differently.
A large portion of my academic training focused on identifying and treating those who have experienced trauma. This might include sexual trauma, PTSD, betrayal trauma, physical abuse, abandonment, or unresolved trauma from childhood and adolescence. Remember, just because something happened a long time ago, doesn’t mean it can’t impact your life today.
Certain therapeutic techniques have been found especially useful when it comes to addressing trauma. I have specific training in a variety of these techniques. Namely, EMDR and Internal Family Systems. With my training, I can confidently assist you in addressing your traumatic experiences.
